Chateau Ardilleux

Chateau Ardilleux is a handsome French country home and charming cottage, situated in its own peaceful parkland in very private walled grounds. We are situated in the Poitou Charentes region of France famous for its sunflowers and microclimate.

The Chateau is decorated in a traditional French style, with original marble fireplaces and features.

Here is a brief history of Chateau Ardilleux

It dates back to the 12thc. This is confirmed by French historians, by the charantais stones in petal mosiacs, and in the extended cellars, which lead to the tunnels purported to be over a 1000yrs old !!.
It was reportedly owned by a nobleman, prior to the revolution.
In 1798 the Fleury-Michon (famous catering company) acquired the chateau ,as their country house. It remained in their possession until late 1970's.

The Chateau is now a part of the Dingley estate, running as a chambre d'hote, and offering relaxing breaks, decadent dining and holidays to people from all over the world. In the private walled parkland the 2 bed self contained former chauffeurs cottage offers a charming stay.

The welcome which is extended by hosts Donald and Corinne, added to the surroundings for dining, are warm and inviting.
The restaurant itself comfortably seats 14 guests. External events, be they weddings or less formal events, cater for up to 100 guests.

Chef Corinne offers fine dining to perfection. A taste of France using the highest quality of ingredients - both home grown and expertly sourced.

Her menus are fresh and based on the best produce available at the time of menu design and preparation. This includes home reared eggs, summer home grown vegetables and herbs. For next year home grown edible flowers will be introduced on to the diner's plates. They offer an extensive wine cellar to compliment your menu.

The Table d'hôtes menu is only one of the options on offer. Why not contact Corinne to plan a special occassions, including birthdays? Whatever your dining need it is time for you to dine at Chateau Ardilleux.

This dining experience is one which guests will want to return to on many occasions.

As Chef Corinne says "The flavour should not just be there. It should stay with you".  Having eaten at Chateau Ardilleux myself, take my word - it certainly does.
